After what has been a strong season for Diamond Valley's Michael Petridis, another great game from the forward has this week awarded him his first CM Player of the Week honour.

Despite suffering a loss to top-of-the-ladder Warrnambool, Petridis managed to top the weekend's scoring with 38 points ahead of Warrnambool's star recruits Lester Strong and Timothy Gainey. Petridis also managed a solid game under the net, chalking up an easy 13 rebounds, dominating the court for the Eagles.

Despite finals not looking likely for the boys, there is no doubt that Petridis will continue to shine for the Eagles as the season comes rushing to a close, and will make for good viewing as the boys face a tough end to their season.

Other contenders this weekend included:

- Sandringham's Simon Conn, with an impressive 28 points and 16 rebounds in the boys' win over Dandenong.
- Warrnambool's Lester Strong with another incredible double-double of 32 points and 21 rebounds.
- Mike Spears' outstanding 31 points in Hume City's win over the Devils.
- Joel Seach, with 24 points and 16 rebounds in the Hawks' win over Werribee.

BIG V WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: TEGAN FOWLER - Sandringham Sabres

A dominating Week 12 has awarded Sandringham's Tegan Fowler back to back POTW honours, chalking up three for the year in what has been a fantastic season for the centre.

Fowler started off the weekend with an incredible CW season-high of 33 points in the Sabres' win over the Rangers, dominating the court and leading her team to a much-needed victory. Fowler also led the way in rebounds with 11, including nine defensive that saw her dominating at both ends of the court.

Game two of the weekend saw Fowler with another dominating performance of 24 points and nine rebounds in the girls' win over Melbourne, accumulating for the weekend a massive 57 points and 20 rebounds, giving her undisputed POTW honours.

With the Sabres now in fourth, the team are going to need another couple of dominating weeks from Fowler to help cement themselves a chance at finals, and based on her season thus far, Fowler is sure not to disappoint as the season races to a close.

Other contenders this weekend included:

- The Rangers' Melissa Colcott equalled her season-high of 24 points in the girls' disappointing loss to Sandringham.
- Marita Payne registered a double-double for Eltham with 19 points and 11 rebounds against Coburg.
- The Sabres' Alison Downie also had an impressive match against Dandenong with 19 points and led the game's rebounding with 12.
