Deloitte fires up for second season

The Crazy John’s South Dragons are delighted to announce the continued support of Deloitte as a major sponsor of the club’s second NBL season.

Deloitte was the founding lead sponsor of the Crazy John’s South Dragons in 2006-’07.

Crazy John’s South Dragons chairman Mark Cowan said the support of Deloitte remained key to a successful future.

“Deloitte was our lead sponsor for year one and they’ve been a terrific sponsor, not just from a financial aspect but through the whole relationship that has been established,” he said.

“Deloitte have been with us from the start and their continued support really helps underpin the future success of the club.”

The continuation of the Deloitte sponsorship further strengthens the Crazy John’s South Dragons’ developing network of prominent local and international partners.

“It’s been a deliberate strategy of ours to go out there and find partners that are great businesses and those that bring a certain amount of corporate credibility to the network we’re establishing,” Cowan said.

Deloitte managing partner- Victoria, Frank Ford said the renewed sponsorship of the Crazy John’s South Dragons reinforced many of the company’s own cultural values.

“Basketball, as a tight and fast-moving team sport, is the embodiment of many of Deloitte’s seven signals, the cultural guide that we try to live by; play to win, continuously grow and improve, recruit and retain the best, empower and trust, aim to be famous and have fun and celebrate.”

Deloitte partner for the club Heather Park said the continuing alliance with the Crazy John’s South Dragons was considered a positive move by all staff.

“Our sponsorship has always centred on the unique opportunity that the basketball offers to engage our people and clients in an informal, fun and lively atmosphere," she said.

"It’s one of our most effective entertainment and engagement activities, borne out by the feedback from our partners, clients and our people.

“With the experience of last season under our belt we’re taking the opportunity to fire up all our activities around the Dragons.

“We’ve effectively doubled our client entertainment around the team because the interest has been so great.”

The Crazy John’s South Dragons’ official pre-season campaign starts today, ahead of the club’s Round 1 clash with the West Sydney Razorbacks at Vodafone Arena on September 22.

The team will appear on Deloitte's home turf every day next week, with players scheduled to appear at QV Square from 1-3pm.
