Hobart controlled the game early and held a 10-point margin after one quarter. The Chargers were devastating in the third quarter, destroying the Pioneers at both ends of the floor and holding a comfortable 86-64 lead after three quarters. The Chargers' bench played the majority of the last quarter and despite being outscored 16-30 in the last, held on to win.

A 25-18 second quarter by the Braves was the deciding factor in the game, played at a high intensity for the majority of the match.

Both sides started well in an even first quarter but Geelong pulled away towards the end of the quarter to lead by seven. Brebner was well assisted by Nathan Herbert, who had 16 first half points of his own. The game was won in the second quarter as Knox had no answer to Geelong’s solid defence while the Supercats piled on 35 points to set up a lead of 19 at the half. The relentless effort by the Supercats continued in the third as the lead was extended to 27 points. Only Knox import C.J. Massingale was showing any spirit for the home side, amassing a massive personal tally and leaving his teammates in his wake.

Pioneers were slow out of the blocks for the second consecutive night, losing the first quarter 19-34, and forced to play catch-up for the remainder of the game. Pioneer Dallass Jeffree was solid at the offensive end, but the Thunder lifted the intensity once again in the lastquarter to outscore the Pioneers 38-25 in the last and run out winners.

The game started at a very fast and furious pace with both teams going basket for basket. But it was the Bandits' Bradley Sheridan who did all the damage, hitting 17 first quarter points. In the second quarter it was Ballarat who came out firing, taking a 13-point lead with Ricky Daniels having a big influence under the basket. In the second half the Bandits came out hard to reduce Ballarat's lead and once again this was due to the excellent three-point shooting of Sheridan. In the final term the game went right down to the wire for the second week in a row between these two teams, with the Miners having a shot on the buzzer to put the game into overtime.

Geelong jumped away early getting five points on the board before the home side scored but Kilsyth were soon back on track as the lead changed many times in the period with Kilsyth eventually heading into the first break ahead by two points. In the second quarter Kilsyth extended their lead by six as Geelong’s lack of ball movement through hands affected scoring opportunities. Defensively, their customary zone was not having the desired affect of stopping the scoring output of their opponents. In the third quarter the scoring was basket for basket. The Supercats lifted their intensity at the start of the quarter and bought the margin back to three points but the home side was equal to the challenge and again stepped away to lead by 10 at the last change. Twice in the last quarter Geelong got the margin back to three points, however each time Kilsyth lifted again and the Supercats could not breach the gap.

Foul shots by Dave Biwer and Jarred Scoffern with only seconds remaining sealed the victory for Nunawading. Blues Strzebonski had a chance to snatch victory with a last second attempt but was unable to sink the basket.

Frankston were competitive in the first half, but shot a disappointing 19% from the field in the second half and could only score seven points in the third quarter, which was the turning point of the game. Launceston took advantage of the Lady Blues' poor shooting and ran away comfortable winners.

The Lady Bandit who had nothing to lose came out hard and fast through some excellent shooting from Jessica Bibby and Natalie Hurst. The Lady Bandits took a five-point lead into the halftime break. In the third the Lady Bandits once again came out hard to increase their lead before Ballarat stepped up its defence and started hitting some valuable baskets. In the final term it was all Ballarat running out with the game 82 to 72 and sealing up top position along with a home final. In a very impressive performance for Ballarat, Chantal Allgood hit 22 points, and had
an incredible 23 rebounds and seven assists. For the Lady Bandits it was Jessica Bibby who hit 28 points.

Kilsyth trailed by one point at the half, but Bendigo came out the better team after the half time break, punishing the Lady Cobras at the defensive end. Lady Brave Dee Butler scored all of her nine points in the second half to guide her team to victory and consolidate second position on the ladder.

The game was all tied at 40-all at the halftime break, but the Lady Blues once again struggled in the second half and the Lady Thunder took full advantage. Shooting at a magnificent 54% in the second half, NW Tasmania outscored Frankston 32-20 in the third quarter and secured the victory to remain a slim chance of snatching the fourth and final place in the top four.

OVERTIME
Knox came out strongly and took advantage of the Spectres' lack of height, with good inside plays, leading by eight points at quarter time. Knox maintained their advantage over the Spectres, taking a 10-point lead into halftime. The Spectres came out firing in the third quarter and dominated, trailing only one point going into the final quarter. The final quarter was even
and after 10 minutes the teams couldn't be separated going into the overtime. The lead changed several times, however it was Knox that prevailed by four points.

The “Opals Twin Towers” once again scored the majority of the points for their team, and helped the Knox Raiders grab the victory and confirm their position in the top four and guarantee them a first week semi final.
