Despite leading by 16 points at the half, the Pioneers were outscored and outplayed in the second half as Brave Cameron Rigby lifted the intensity and stole the game. Bendigo outscored Mt Gambier 34-11 in the third quarter and worked hard to bridge the gap but fell short.

It was Ballarat who came out hard and fast against a fired up Thunder outfit. But in the first half it was all about Miners captain Brett Goodgame, playing in his 150th game and with 24 points at the main break to help the Miners go into the main break with a 14-point lead, 72 to 58 with some of the Thunders' star players struggling with fouls. However, the Thunder came out hard and fast in the second half, bringing back the deficit to just three points with a quarter to play. In the final quarter both teams went basket for basket with both team's tall players going hard at each other under the basket. But with scores tied with five seconds left on the clock, it was that man Goodgame who hit the winning shot.

An impressive return to form for Supercat Jamal Brown helped Geelong return to the winners' circle with a convincing victory. Brown was outstanding and well supported by Brebner and Reardon.

Frankston outscored Knox 31-20 in the final quarter to run out comfortable winners, after a close basket for basket contest in the previous three quarters. Gruber and Timmons were outstanding for Frankston as they combined for 57 points, and contained Raiders' import John Bryant to four points.

Canberra shot a fantastic 59% from the field and was the dominant team on the night. The Gunners' frontcourt (Denman, Petrie and Baird) combined for 72 points and the Gunners out-rebounded the Bandits 57-39.

Kilsyth started the game strongly, scoring 32 points to the Chargers' 12, and forced Hobart to play catch-up for the remainder of the game. An injury to Stewart midway in the second term forced the sharp shooter to the bench, and the Chargers struggled to bridge the gap.

Hobart led by 10 at three-quarter time, and by a point with 36 seconds remaining, but a missed shot by Anthony Stewart allowed Knox to gain control of the ball and unsung hero Alex Prince was able to score a lay-up with 20 seconds remaining and clinch the victory. Chargers had another chance to score with seconds remaining, but the shot by Corey Davie fell short.

The first quarter started evenly with neither team able to get the upper hand. Nunawading went into the first break with a two-point lead. Whilst the second quarter started evenly, Ballarat managed to break away outscoring the Spectres 29-20. With a seven-point lead into the third quarter Ballarat were able to keep up the momentum to increase their lead to 15 points going into the last quarter. Ballarat dominated the last quarter coming away with a 23-point win.

The Lady Miners came out hard and fast going out to an early six-point lead through some excellent offensive play. However in the second quarter the Lady Miners played some brilliant defence, especially from Kellie Abrams on Kristen Veal to keep the Thunder to just six second quarter points to give the Lady Miners a 38-22 halftime lead. In the second half it was still once again all Ballarat through some excellent team basketball with the entire bench getting some valuable minutes.

Frankston were slow to get out of the blocks with the Raiders holding a 29-17 first quarter lead. Frankston did a great defensive job in the second, containing the Raiders to seven points and bridged the gap back to three points at the half. Unfortunately that was the closest the Lady Blues got as the Raiders came out of the break the better team and went on to record the victory. League veteran Chelsea Laing had a great game after returning from three months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Lady Bandit Nat Hurst was outstanding, scoring 36 points @ 68% and the Tornadoes struggled to contain her for the entire game. Trailing by two points at the half, Albury/Wodonga recorded 62 points in the second half to run away comfortable winners.

Kilsyth clinched the final place in the upcoming SEABL finals with a hard-fought victory over the Lady Thunder. Turnovers proved costly for NW Tasmania, as Kilsyth punished them scoring, 22 points off the Lady Thunders' turnovers. Veal and Braunberger fouled out with three minutes remaining, but NW Tasmania held on. When coach Craig Johnstone was ejected from the stadium after two tech fouls with 14 seconds on the clock, Kilsyth grabbed the victory with four successful free throws.

Knox was in control for the majority of the match and all five starting players scored in double figures for the Raiders. Knox guard Julia Tan was sensational at both ends of the floor, containing league scoring leader Jess Bibby to only 13 points, but Tan was also effective for her own team at the offensive end with a season-best 17 points.

OVERTIME
The Spectres dominated the first quarter leading the Tornadoes 27 to 18. In the second quarter the Tornadoes lifted their intensity to trail the Specters by only four going into the third quarter. Both teams struggled at times throughout the third quarter, however the Spectres still held a 14-point lead going into the last quarter. The final quarter saw the Tornadoes close on the Spectres, taking the lead with 90 seconds to go. With the game on the line no team could make the decisive break going into overtime. With an early foul to Lisa Pardon putting her out of the game and a Spectres steal, the Tournadoes were unable to recover.
