Overtime was what decided the outcome of this match, with a full time score of 116-all, leaving spectators on the edge of their seats as overtime began. In the end it was the Falcons who proved too strong, with 19 points to Melbourne's 12, knocking the Tigers out of the finals for 2007.

Melbourne got off to a strong start with a six-point lead at quarter time, but the Falcons came back fighting in the second quarter to have the scores levelled at 63-apiece at half time. The Tigers surged forward to a two-point lead at quarter time, but again the Falcons levelled out the score, proving just how tough the competition between these two is.

It was a combined effort from Waverley that got their score so high, with Bradley Kelleher leading the scoring for the Falcons with 34 points ahead of teammate Andrew Walter with 30. Andrew Knowles was also a solid performer with 20 points and 16 rebounds, shooting 69% from the field, and rounding out what was an incredible team match for the Falcons.

Whilst the Tigers may have not had the win, Daryl Corletto had a win of his own, with an incredible season high score of 50 points, teamed with six assists and eight rebounds, which just wasn't enough to continue their finals dream for another week.

Hume City Broncos 96 def Warrnanmbool Seahawks 95

In what was arguably the game of the year thus far, the Broncos managed a one-point win over the Seahawks, with the Seahawks unable to break their losing streak and now out of Championship contention for 2007.

An early lead saw the Seahawks by eight points at quarter time, and three by half time, but a strong third quarter brought the Broncos in front with a one-point win that shattered the dreams of the Seahawks for another year.

The strength of the Broncos lay within Mike Spears and Pierre Jallow. Mike Spears was the game's leading scorer with 27 points and 13 rebounds with Jallow scoring himself a tidy 23 points and 14 rebounds, the two proving the difference in the end result.

Foul trouble saw Lester Strong with six fouls, and finishing out the game on the bench after leading his team's scoring with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Tim Gainey also scored well with 19 baskets and 11 boards, in the end the tale of just how close the contest was laying in the number of shots both teams put up, with Hume City putting up 87 from the field with a percentage of 41% and Warrnambool with 91 from the field shooting at 34%.

Dandenong Rangers 90 def Sandringham Sabres 81

A quick two points from Ranger Ash Cannan, and it was game on, with Dandenong setting the pace for this thriller that saw the Rangers take a nine-point win over the Sabres, in what was a tight contest until the last few minutes.

The combined effort of Ash Cannan with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists and Vince Inglima with 26 points kept the Rangers ahead in score for most of the game, taking a nine-point lead at halftime, that saw the Sabres come back in the third term, scoring 32 points to Dandenong's 20, which put the Sabres in front for the first time for the game.

A tough beginning of the last quarter saw Dandenong back at the net, and a tight contest followed, as the pressure in the stadium continued to mount. A team points scoring effort got the Rangers back in front and by then it was too late for Sandringham, who proved that they will be tough next week up against Waverley.

George Williams was undoubtedly the leading man for the Sabres, scoring himself a double-double in the first half with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and ending the game as the leading scorer with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Combined with Joe Ingles who started the game on the bench, and managed an easy 19 points for the game, Sandringham were a tough match-up, but in the end didn't have enough for the win, leaving Dandenong to play Hume City next week, whilst the Sabres will battle the Falcons in an elimination round.
