NOVI SAD (FIBA U19 World Championship) - Serbia's Milan Macvan has been named Most Valuable Player for the recently concluded FIBA U19 World Championship in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The 17-year-old forward averaged 15.4 points as the host nation won gold at the tournament in Novi Sad, beating the United States 74-69 in the final.

Macvan, who plays for FMP II Belgrade, poured in 19 points in the final to help his side to victory.

Brazil centre Paulao ended as the tournament's top-scorer with 207 points, an average of 23 per game, and the 19-year-old COC-Ribeirao Preto player also headed the list of rebounders on 132.

Lithuania's Zygimantas Janavicius notched up the most assists (53) while Serbia's Mladen Jeremic was the best from outside the arc with 23 successful three-pointers from 48 attempts.
