NW Tasmania Thunder forward/centre Luke Brennan kept his best game until last, recording a season-best 30 points @ 81%, and also had 16 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and three steals.

Unfortunately his efforts could not help his team to victory as the Thunder lost 105-108 to a determined Gunners outfit. Brennan was outstanding in the first quarter, recording 12pts@100%, three rebounds and one block to help his team to a 35-23 first quarter scoreline. Not only was Brennan a threat at the offensive end, but he also had the arduous task of containing Gunners sensation Anthony Petrie. Brennan limited Petrie to 23 points and six rebounds, all well below his season averages.

SEABL EAST MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PAUL DENMAN – Canberra Gunners

Despite losing to Hobart 94-105 on Friday night, Canberra Gunners veteran Paul Denman played an exceptional game with 25pts@55%, 11 rebounds and one assist. A lot was expected of Denman in this game as the Gunners were without MVP contender Anthony Petrie. Denman played a true captain's game, but he and his team struggled to eliminate the 15 point gap the Chargers gathered after one quarter.

The following night Denman continued his late-season form, helping his team to a much-needed 108-105 victory against the Thunder and clinched the vital second place in the East. With his team trailing 23-35 after the first quarter, Denman lifted the intensity in the second quarter and recorded 13pts@83% and three rebounds to have his team back in contention and trailing by four.

With another eight points in the fourth quarter, Gunners captain Paul Denman finished with 31pts@67%, 10 rebounds, two assists and one block.

Other notable performances were;
- Marcus Timmons recorded 17pts@60%, 11 rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals, helping Frankston to a much-needed 118-103 victory against Mt Gambier.
- With 23pts@56%, 12 rebounds and three assists, Miners Anthony Susnjara helped Ballarat legend Eric Hayes enter into retirement with a victory over the Southern District Spartans.

SEABL WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: KAREN ASHBY – Ballarat Lady Miners

Ashby finished a superb regular season with her fourth Player of the Week recognition, and increased the likelihood of capturing back to back Most Valuable Player trophies. Karen played the entire 40 minutes on Saturday night in the Lady Miners' 88-82 victory against rivals Nunawading, and finished the game with 31 points, 18 rebounds, six assists and two blocks.

Karen started the game slowly, but stamped her authority in the second quarter with 12pts, but her team still trailed by nine points with two quarters to play. Determined to finish the regular season with a victory, Karen once again displayed her brilliance on the court, recording eight points, five rebounds, two assists and one block in the third term to help the Lady Miners edge clear of the Spectres, and hold on for the victory with another solid fourth quarter.

Other notable performances were;
- Albury/Wodonga Lady Bandits Nat Hurst had another sensational weekend, lifting her team to a 2-0 weekend and averaging 27.5ppg, 5rpg and 9apg. In most likely her last game with the Lady Bandits in Albury, Hurst recorded 30pts, three rebounds and 10 assists to inspire her team to a rewarding 99-98 overtime victory over finals-bound Kilsyth.
- Southern Districts Lady Spartans Holly Smith finished her first SEABL season in fine style with
28pts@85%, nine rebounds and three assists in an 84-75 victory Knox Raiders.
- New Zealand international Kate McMeekan-Ruscoe finished off her season with Frankston Lady
Blues in fine style with 31pts@58% and four rebounds in her team's disappointing 81-91 loss to Albury/Wodonga on Sunday afternoon.
