Geelong started the game at a blistering pace, and held a 31-19 advantage after one quarter. This forced Canberra to play catch-up for the remainder of the game, which is always difficult. Supercats frontcourt Myers, Brown and Brebner played a magnificent defensive game, holding MVP favourite Anthony Petrie to 17pts. Gunners sharp-shooter Zlatko Todorovski had a game he won't want to remember as he struggled at the offensive end. Supercats outscored Canberra in every quarter and secured the right to host their fourth successive East Men's grand final.

Blues Bart Strzebonski was on fire to start the game and the Spartans could not stop him. Bart scored 13 of the Blues first 15pts and helped Frankston establish a 32-19 first quarter advantage. Gruber and Timmons stepped up in the second quarter, and Southern Districts continued to struggle at the offensive end. Not much defensive was played in thesecond quarter as both teams scored 30+. Spartans chances were struck a major blow midway through the third term, when star Brad Williamson got three successive fouls, and fouled out of the game. Frankston coach Bill Runchey was able to run his entire bench and they didn’t disappoint.

Very disappointing game for the Chargers, as the big three Nash, Stewart, George all struggled to make any impact on the game. MVP contender Anthony Stewart had a terrible night for Hobart, shooting two from 16 for a total of seven points, his second lowest this season. Chargers as a team shot a disappointing 36% from the field and were outplayed by Bendigo. Braves Michael Hill was outstanding, and helped his team secure the grand final hosting rights for the third straight year.

After scrapping through into the finals, Kilsyth have scored a surprising victory with a sensational game by all players. Seven players scored in double figures for Kilsyth and the Cobras were in control of the game for the entire 48mins. Kilsyth won the first three quarters to set up a commanding lead with a quarter to play.

It was Bendigo who got off to a flying start to lead Ballarat by 10 points early in the game. Ballarat then brought Kristy Rinaldi into the game with an instant result, getting her team right back in the game to trail by just two points at the first break. In the second quarter it was very tight with neither side giving nothing away and with Karen Ashby having a major influence on the game. Ballarat went into the main break with a one-point lead. Again in the third quarter it was tightly contested but with some of Ballarat's key players in foul trouble they had the job ahead of them, even with a three-point lead at three quarter time. Then in the final term with Ballarat struggling to find a score it was Bendigo who stepped it up with Kristi Harrower starting to take control of the game before Bendigo went on to record a 76-70 victory and earn the right to host the SEABL grand final for the second straight year.

The experience in the Raiders' line-up showed dramatically in this game, as the Knox starting five destroyed the Lady Cobars in the first quarter to hold a 21-9 advantage after 10mins of game play. The Knox Twin towers (Randall and Grima) were causing havoc and showed no tiredness from a recent China tour with the Opals. Knox court general Jo Myers was also playing a quality offensive game, setting up her teammates for many opportunities and finished the game with a season-high 12 assists. Lady Cobars Schrader, Parsons and Keane all had disappointing games and struggled to make an impact on offence.
