The inaugural family open day was attended by hundreds of the club’s most passionate fans, who took the opportunity to watch the team train before a meet-and-greet session with all the stars of the game.

Also on hand at Vodafone Arena were Lil’D, Crazy John and Whitelion, getting in on all the action throughout the afternoon.

As well as the chance to get up close and personal with the Crazy John’s South Dragons stars, fans took part in a series of games and activities and collected their new-season membership passes in readiness for tip-off on September 22.

Fans will again be out in force at Vodafone Arena tonight to see the Australia Post Boomers take on the New Zealand Tall Blacks in game one of the FIBA Oceania qualifying series.

Sam Mackinnon will lead the new-look Boomers into battle as the two teams vie for the right to play in Beijing, 2008.

Spirits are high in the Australian camp, but the Tall Blacks will be a massive challenge for the home side and a huge crowd is needed to get the Boomers across the line.
