The Broncos will take on SEABL champion Bendigo in a semi-final at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on Saturday, with the winner to meet either SEABL runner-up Ballarat or Queensland league champion Townsville Flames in the Grand Final on Sunday. All four teams feature a sprinkling of national league players.

"I think we will match up with them okay,'' Broncos coach Glen Milner said of Bendigo.

"Kristi Harrower obviously is the key for them in setting them up so we'll be relying on Sharin (Milner) to hold her own there as much as she can.

"But the general info coming out of Bendigo is that Kelly Lemesz is the one to watch. She's the x-factor. But we'll play our game and see where the cards fall.

"I'm pretty confident we've got a good side and enough depth,'' Milner said.

The Broncos head into the semi-final clash full of confidence, having dominated their quarter-final against the champion of the Central (South Australian) League, Norwood Flames.

On the back of a 28-point haul from centre Elyse Penaluna and a double-double from Kellie Burbridge (11 points and 11 rebounds), the Broncos claimed a massive 31-point win, 83-52, over the Flames in their ABA quarter-final at Broadmeadows Stadium on Saturday night.

The Broncos obviously did their scouting well during the week, leading by 12 points at quarter-time and by 23 at the main break.

It gave Milner the chance to rotate his bench and keep his stars fresh for the weekend ahead.

Milner said he was rapt with the form and confidence in her own game that Penaluna had shown since returning from Australian Sapphires (under-19) duties.

"She's phenomenal . . . 28 points in 21 minutes, what more can you ask of a kid?

"And she's grown in confidence too.

"She knows now that she belongs at this level and higher and it's reflected in the way she plays,'' Milner said.

Broncos guard Tenille Cann chipped in with 11 points, while fellow starters Milner and foward Naomi Pedro added 10 each.

Waverley, the team Hume City defeated a week earlier to claim the Big V championship, lost to Bendigo 82-61 in their quarter-final on Sunday.

Meanwhile, men's Big V champion Dandenong will also feature in the ABA semi-finals, having beaten SEABL South Division champion Bendigo 100-91 in their quarter-final.

Dandenong will now meet Waratah League (NSW) champion Sutherland Sharks in the semis, with Geelong Supercats (SEABL East champion) to face Cairns (QABL) in the other final.
