After a tough week in Perth, the team is back in town and looking for a clean sweep against the Breakers in this week’s double-header.

Despite going down to the Wildcats in last week’s three-game series, there were plenty of good signs for the new-look Crazy John’s South Dragons ahead of the new season.

Matt Burston continues to impress on return from injury, making an impact both on the scoreboard and the rebound count across the pre-season.

Imports Cortez Groves and Nick Horvath have been quick to settle in to their new team, wasting no time showing off their skills against the Wildcats in Perth.

And on the verge of yet another NBL campaign, Shane Heal showed his western foes he still has what it takes to get the job done and the passion to make it happen.

But it’s a lesser-know name the Geelong crowd will have eyes on tonight, with local favourite Nathan Herbert to suit up in the red and black after six seasons with the Supercats in the SEABL.

With just over two weeks until the season gets under way, the Crazy John’s South Dragons are out to build on last week’s efforts and go into the new season full of confidence.

After a post-season shake-up, New Zealand is tipped as one of the teams to watch in 2007/08 and will be out to play at the Arena tonight.

Tall Blacks representatives Paul Henare, Phil Jones, Kirk Penney, Mika Vukona and Paora Winitana are all due to hit the floor alongside NBL veteran Tony Ronaldson, set to battle it out with Horvath in the paint.
