A game-high 31 points to Chauncey Billups has helped the Detroit Pistons bolt home to a 97-90 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in a likely look ahead to the finals.

Billups also managed 11 assists for the Pistons, and was ably supported by Rasheed Wallace who managed 21 points and 10 rebounds, to help their team to its fifth win in six matches.

A 46-26 third term helped the Milwaukee Bucks to overcome the Pheonix Suns 132-110, with Charlie Bell and Michael Redd doing the damage for the home side.

A club record 18 three-pointers helped the Bucks to beat the team boasting the best offensive record this season, connecting 11 in a row in that third quarter - Bell ending up with 28 points, and Redd racking up 10 boards and 13 assists.

The Orlando Magic turned a nine-point three-quarter time deficit into a four-point win against the Chicago Bulls, taking out the match 97-93.

Hedro Turkoglu led the way in the final minutes hitting two jump shots, while Jameer Nelson top scored with 24.

In other matches played, 44 points to Pau Gasol wasn't enough as the Memphis Grizzlies went down 98-97 against the Seattle Supersonics, while the Washington Wizards were too good for the Sacramento Kings 97-84.

The San Antnio Spurs beat the LA Clippers 98-87, and the Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Atlanta Hawks 125-117.
