Pistons keep pumping
4/04/2006
Chauncey Billups has continued his fantastic run of form to ensure that the Detroit Pistons are the only team in the NBA not to have lost to the Phoenix Suns this season.

Billups recorded a game-high 35 points, including 28 of those coming in the second half, as the Pistons ran out 109-102 victors.

The Suns held the lead with just over four minutes left to play in the final term, before Billups and the Pistons exploded to take the match comfortably.

Thirty-two points to Philadelphia superstar Allen Iverson has helped the 76ers to a 114-95 victory over the New York Knicks at home.

Iverson was ably supported by Chris Webber and Andre Iguadala who each netted 20 points helping to get the 76ers back on track after losing 10 of their past 12 matches prior to this one.

The New Jersey Nets are just one win away from the Atlantic Division title after beating the Miami Heat 90-78.

Vince Carter put on a basketball clinic, with 33 of his 43 points coming in the second half, to give the Nets their 12th victory on the trot.

In other matches played, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Denver Nuggets 103-79, the Minnesota Timberwolves pipped the Golden State Warriors 106-104 and the Memphis Grizzlies were far too strong for the Atlanta Hawks 98-87.

The New Orleans Hornets needed two periods of overtime to overcome the Toronto Raptors 120-113, while the LA Lakers easily dispose of the Houston Rockets 104-88.
