Inaugural Dragons signing Joe Ingles will resume training at the AIS on Monday, yesterday declared fully fit following a broken right foot incurred nearly two months ago.

Ingles is expected to return for round seven of SEABL competition, with the AIS hosting Frankston next Saturday.

“I’ve been working on my shooting two to three times a day,” said Ingles. “On average I’m putting up around 800 shots by days end.

“With my foot in a boot for most of recovery I’ve also been working hard in the weights room on my general conditioning.”

Keeping in regular communication with the Dragons team, Ingles recently spoke with former AIS team-mate Jeff Dowdell on the recruitment of big man Matt Burston.

“Jeff has played a season with Matt out in Perth, and speaks very highly of his game,” Ingles added.

“He’s another great pick-up for our club and I can’t wait to start training with the group ahead of the NBL season.”
