Preparation for pre-season 2006/07 has begun in earnest, with a number of Dragons already hitting the court in various leagues across the country.
Swingman Frank Drmic had a strong debut for QABL side Southern District Spartans, top scoring with 29 points in his sides 112-97 win over the Brisbane Capitals on Sunday.
Drmic added nine rebounds and three steals for the Spartans, alongside team-mates Ben Thompson, Greg Vanderjagt and Blair Smith.

The Spartans will next week face the Cairns Marlins in round two of the QABL.
Captain Shane Heal has been putting shots up at his local court on the Gold Coast, with a heavy focus on gym work ahead of the Dragons official pre-season start in a couple of months.
Hammer says there’s a chance he could suit-up in a Wednesday night social league over the next fortnight.
Other Dragons players competing in state competition include Matt Shanahan (Kilsyth Cobras) and Joe Ingles (AIS).
Ingles, who’s recovered from a broken right foot, will play his first match for almost two months on Saturday, as the AIS host Frankston at home in Canberra.
Former Perth Wildcats Vice Captain Matt Shanahan will suit up against the Albury Wodonga Bandits this weekend in round seven of the SEABL.
Jacob Holmes was in Melbourne on the weekend, enjoying a holiday with friends; Matt Burston is continuing recovery work on his ankle in Wollongong and Adam Quick is in the United States on his honeymoon.
