Strong, who took the league by storm last season, destroyed a tall Diamond Valley front line on Saturday night with a big haul of 38 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks.

He currently leads the league in scoring, at just over 33 points per game. He has three times topped 30 points in five games, with a season high 46 points.

Strong is third in the league in rebounds chasing Eversteyn and Spears and second in blocked shots at 3 per game.

Others in consideration for the weekly award were:

* Jason Eversteyn, who amassed 41 rebounds across the weekend, to go with six blocked shots and 30 points as the hawks went 1-1;
* Sandringham's Marcus Timmons, performing consistently again with 24 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, four blocks and four steals;
* Bobby Cunningham, who scored 25 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished six assists and collected five steals as the Seahawks beat Waverley;
* Curtis Small, who had 37 points in the same game, on 14 of 22 shooting, to go with four steals.
