Penny Taylor, Suzy Batkovic and Kristi Harrower, who were missing from the squad which captured gold at the Commonwealth Games in March because of commitments in Europe, have re-joined the squad, as have Olympians Alicia Poto and Natalie Porter, who have overcome injuries.

Much of the 28-woman squad will come together for its first four-day training camp in Geelong on June 11.

"This is a high quality squad that will be a real force at the World Championships in September," Opals head coach Jan Stirling said.

"We will be missing a few bodies at the first camp in Geelong, but it will give the coaching staff the chance to get a really good look at those who are there."

Following the camp, a team of 12 will be chosen to tour China from June 28 to July 6, with some of the younger players without WNBA experience set to get a good run.

"The calibre of competition at the tournament in China is top class," Stirling said. "It will provide a great opportunity for all players to show their capabilities in the international arena."

The Opals will also play in the Czech Republic in late August before heading to North Carolina to take on the USA in their final preparation match.
