The Phoenix Suns have put the Los Angeles Lakers out of the NBA play-offs with a thumping 121-90 victory in the deciding game of their seven-match series.

Leandro Barbosa scored a play-off career-high 26 points to help the Suns get well over the line against the Lakers, while Los Angeles star Kobe Bryant was unusually quiet, for his standards, with just 24 points.

Bryant, who shot 50 points in game six, received little support from his teammates, with only Luke Walton (16), Lamar Odom (12) and Sasha Vujacic (11) reaching double figures.

The Suns however, spread the work across their full list, with Barbosa leading the way off the bench.

Boris Diaw added 21, Shawn Marion had 14 and 10 rebounds, Raja Bell and Steve Nash shot 13 each, Tim Thomas added 12 off the bench and James Jones ended the night with 10.

The Suns never trailed in the contest and led by as much as 33 points, and with Bryant opting not to shoot late in the match, instead passing to his teammates at every opportunity, Phoenix decided to run Los Angeles off the court.

The only bad new for the Suns was an ankle injury to Nash.
