Basketball Victoria would like to recognise Warrandyte’s Daisy Cousens as a Princess of the Court. Daisy is a grade three student at Warrandyte Primary School and has been playing basketball for three years after watching her Mum, brother and sisters play.

The Princess of the Court is a joint initiative between Basketball Victoria and the Big V, running throughout the Big V season. Each week two females will be recognised for their involvement in the sport – a Queen of the Court from the Big V competition and a Princess of the Court from junior basketball competitions and programs across the state.

In 2002, Daisy participated in the Aussie Hoops Oz Ball program at Warrandyte Basketball Association. She has gone on to join a team in the E.D.J.B.A. Under 11 competition.

“We nominated Daisy for the Princess of the Court in recognition of her determination and teamwork,” said Mandy Ratcliffe, of Warrandyte Basketball Association. “She has a great attitude and loves playing basketball.

“Daisy enjoys playing basketball with her friends, and keeps a close watch on her favourite player and star of the Commonwealth Games, Lauren Jackson.”

Daisy will receive a $50.00 voucher for sports equipment and a certificate. Basketball Victoria congratulates Daisy on her dedication, and wishes her all the best with her future in the sport of basketball.
