The Clippers gave the Suns no chance of posting a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, as they registered a stunning 122-97 flogging of their Western Conference rival to level the series at one game apiece.

Elton Brand scored 27 points and ripped down 10 boards, while Chris Kaman added 14 and 16 for the Clippers, who shot 54 percent (49-of-90). Vladimir Radmanovic added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Sam Cassell and Cuttino Mobley scored 23 points apiece for the sixth-seeded Clippers, and it was the former who sparked Los Angeles in the first period as they raced to a 20-6 advantage.

Raja Bell scored 20 points and Leandro Barbosa added 18 for the Suns, who shot 46 percent (36-of-79). NBA MVP Steve Nash was quiet with 14 points and eight assists.

In Miami, the Heat also bounced back from a game one loss with a resounding victory in their second clash with the New Jersey Nets.

Dwyane Wade scored 17 of his 31 points in the decisive first quarter as the Heat thrashed the Nets 111-89 to level their Eastern Conference semifinal series at one game apiece.

Shaquille O'Neal added 21 points for the second-seeded Heat, who overcame Vince Carter's 22 points and Richard Jefferson's 16 for the Nets.

New Jersey didn't help their own cause, shooting just 40 percent (28-of-70) for the contest.
