Keilor Lady Thunder came out from the shade against top of the ladder Mildura Sunbeams on Mother's Day at Keilor stadium. Whilst losing by 11 points, 67-78 , the Ladies were most impressive and really took it up to the Division 2 pacesetters. If Keilor continue in this frame of mind their next win seems just around the corner.

After running through a guard of honour, the Lady Thunder started brilliantly. They attacked the ball with renewed vigour, they were positive in their endeavour and were enthusiastic with each other. The first quarter demonstrated to the fans how well this team can actually play when they put it all together. It was great to watch, there was a real spirit there, the Ladies were having a real crack and the rewards followed. At quarter time Keilor was 1 point up and looking good.

The second quarter for the Lady Thunder was disappointing. Their intensity dropped, that spark was gone, and within a period of just 5 minutes the game was gone as well. It all went pear-shaped as Mildura showed us why they've only lost 1 game for the season. They were brilliant as they outscored the Thunder 28-9 for the term. Coach Paps continued to push his players hard and for the rest of the game the Ladies held their own, but they they were unable to peg that margin back. In fact it could have been a real blowout but to Keilor's credit they worked really hard and played out the game in fine style. A number of positives came out of the game for the Thunder, one of which was the continued great form of Belinda Ancora. "Be" helped herself to 19 points and 19 rebounds, couple this with her 28 points from round one and it's no wonder Mildura is sick of the sight of her. Also playing well is Sally Braybon who finished with 14 points, including 3 three pointers.

So the Lady Thunder should take confidence from this game as they search for that next win.
