Manu Ginobli, San Antonio Spurs
Spurs force decider

The reigning NBA champion San Antonio Spurs have squared their Western Conference semi finals at 3-3 with the Dallas Mavericks after winning away from home on Friday.

Manu Ginobli starred for the Spurs with 30 points, as his side defeated the Mavs 91-86 and set up a deciding game seven, where San Antonio will be looking to win the series from 1-3 down - a feat only eight teams in history have managed in the playoffs.

The Mavs missed the speed of Jason Terry (17.5 points per game in the series), who was suspended for the contest for a punch he threw against Michael Finley in game five.

Dallas was forced to start with Jerry Stackhouse and Devin Harris as a result in the backcourt, and the pair were a horrible 7-of-29 combined from the field and coughed the ball up seven times.

In a tight contest, Harris connected on two free-throws to knot the game at 82 with three minutes remaining, but the Spurs answered with a triple to Finley and a basket by Duncan following a Dallas score to take an 87-84 lead with 1:48 left.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 points for Dallas, including a reverse lay-up with 17 seconds left to make it 87-86, but Ginobili knocked in a pair from the line and Parker then added another two free-throws to seal the win.

Ginobili added 10 rebounds and was 12-of-13 from the line. Duncan scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half and Finley added 16 for San Antonio.

Josh Howard scored 17 points for the Mavericks, who suffered their first home loss of the postseason.
