A tough physical game with Kilsyth getting out to a 10 point lead which they stretched to 20 points at the end of the half. Kilsyth maintained the lead until the final few minutes which saw Bendigo fight back to only go down by 8 points.

In a close first half between the Ballarat Lady Miners and Frankston Lady Blues, Frankston went into the break with a one point lead with Chelsea Burns doing the damage for Frankston scoring 12 points. Despite receiving a lot of attention Karen Ashby managed 11 points for Ballarat. In the second held Frankston got out to a lead of 12 points, but with Ballarat's never-say-die attitude the game was never over. After losing Karen Ashby, in the dying minutes with 5 fouls Frankston ended up defeating Ballarat 75-69, with Kate McKeeken-Ruscoe 17 and Karen Ashby 23.

The WNBL experience of Knox Raiders proved decisive in their 74-54 victory over the Launceston 'Integrated Training' Tornadoes. Former Tornado and Australian Opals player Hollie Grima 14pts and 10 rebounds was a key contributor who was well supported by Megan Moody (14pts) and Chelsea Laing in their 45-29 rebounding advantage over the home team. The damage was done in the first half where Knox lead by 18 points att he long break. Katrina Hibbert and Jackie Buckthought were menacing all around the court in addition to their effective offensive games. For the home team Jasmine Finnigan (13pts & 4 steals) and Crista Hays (12pts) tried hard to keep the Torns competitive, and the experience of Sallee Whitehead continues to provide the inexperienced team with drive and enthusiasm.

Nunawading were the earlier to settle and didn't take long to establish a handy lead. By quarter time the Spectres were up by 13 points. Full court pressure by Nunawading forced several turnovers to Albury/Wodonga in the second quarter. Nunawading asserted their dominance at both ends, extending the deficit to 30 pts going into the main change. Albury remained unable to shift Nunawading's momentum. in the 2nd half. The Spectres shared the ball around in the 3rd term. to set up a lead of 43 points at 3/4 time.

In a game which was seen as being a close encounter between to second placed conference teams, turned out to be nothing like it. Ballarat jumped to an early lead through a fast paced quick scoring game with all players contributing at both ends. A scare was sent through the team very early with Vil Morton going off with what looked like a knee problem again. This brought Ricky Daniels on court and instantly he had a major impact. The second quarter saw Ballarat go on a 17-0 run to lead at half time by 31 points. The second half saw a continuation of the pain for Frankston. With many of the starting 5 not hitting the court in the last quarter and the bench continuing to get the job done. Highlights were Daniels with 23 points and 11 boards, Hayes 23 and 10 and Cox with 26 points and 13 assists. For Frankston Gilbert with 25 and 10 boards was a lone highlight.

Kilsyth jumped out to a 19-0 start by the middle of the first quarter but with some tough team work Bendigogot it back to a 10 point deficit at the main break. Bendigo worked hard but could not pull the score back in with Matt Shanahan leading Kilsyth with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Denver TenBroek leading the Braves with 31 points and 9 rebounds.

After a long break without a win, Mildura came out looking for a win against the team which beat them in last years conference final. Although Chaz Briggs was in early foul trouble, Carter, Barlow, Hurst and Spratt stepped up to take a 9 point lead at half time. Third quarter saw Geelong bridge the gap quickly and go to a 5 point lead which they very quickly extended early in the fourth quarter to finish with a 24 point lead.

The game opens with a tight physical struggle, Spectres edging a 5 point quarter time lead by being more accurate from the three point line. Inaccurate Miner shooting helps Nunawading to early 10 point lead as Spectres continue to be strong from the three point territory. Throughout the middle of the quarter lead is reduced to 5, however Spectres push hard at the end to establish a 12 point half time lead. A more determined Miners team fights back to be level with 7 minutes to go. The miners finished the third with a lead of 4. Scoring 33 to 17 for the quarter. The lead at times extends to as much as 9 during the quarter. A costly Miner error allow Spectres within 3 points with 1:30 to go, however the Miners established control to be eventual winners 105 to 96.
