Sunbury (6-5) vs Southern Peninsula (6-5)
Saturday 7:00 at Sunbury
Watching from the comfortable distance of the league office we have to say we are mightily impressed with Sunbury's recent run. They've won five of their last six, including a great result at Hawthorn. We are wary though, because a number of those wins have come against sides in the bottom half of the ladder - for what that means in season 2006 where it seems almost any team can win on their night.

We do know SP will be probably the best gauge of where the Jets can go. The home side is still without Mychal, so winning recently has been impressive. SP have won their last couple and are now just a single, likely player, off their best team. A Sunbury victory here erases any doubts for us that the Jets are contenders.

Chelsea (5-6) vs Whittlesea (4-5)
Saturday 7:00pm at Chelsea
The Gulls really need a win here to get themselves back on track - having lost their last two games and slipped to eighth on the ladder. Whittlesea look like they won't be making it easy, their line-up most competitive last weekend.

Keilor (9-1) vs Coburg (1-8)
Saturday 7:30pm at Keilor
As intense as this "local" rivalry is, and as great as it was to see Coburg break through for last week's win, this has the potential to be a big win for the home team.

Shepparton (3-8) vs Hawthorn (7-4)
Saturday 7:30pm at Wanganui
Despite their ladder positions, this game was considered for game of the week. The Gators are not playing poorly, but Hawthorn are, having lost three in succession - they cannot afford to drop another here.

Sherbrooke (6-4) vs Blackburn (2-7)
Saturday 7:45pm at Monbulk
We like the Vikings and the way they play the game but Sherbrooke look to us to be getting deeper each week - with one or two expected back from injury to join Naylor and Ferriere, they look to have too much talent for the Vikes.

Bulleen (7-3) vs Melbourne University (3-6)
Saturday 8:00pm at Templestowe
Every so often the Black Angels turn up with an upset win - just as they did against Altona last week. We think Bulleen have too much to play for to let that happen here.

Altona (7-4) vs Sherbrooke (6-4)
Sunday 3:00pm at Altona
The Gators turned a possible two wins last weekend into a 1-1 result - Coach Mick Downie won't have enjoyed that and nor will he enjoy facing the looming Suns in a game that could see these two swap places on the ladder.

Blackburn (2-7) vs Coburg (1-8)
Sunday 3:00pm at Veneto
The cellar dwellers go at it here - possible to decide the wooden spoon. Blackburn should go into this as favourites but their experienced players really need to perform if they are to take this win.

Division One Women

Game of the Week
Shepparton (6-3) vs Sunbury (5-4)
Saturday 5:30pm at Wanganui
Sunbury's red hot form has brought them a four game win streak and equal with Diamond Valley on losses which means they are on the brink of breaking into the top four. If all goes to plan this weekend they might do just that, but that destiny is pretty much in their own hands with this game looming as the biggest obstacle.

Travelling to Shep to play is never easy, and the home town girls will be particularly fired to perform for their playing Coach Jodie Danaher, who suits for her 250th league game here. Add to that an expected big crowd who should also be on hand to celebrate the achievement and it means that Sunbury's group face on of their sternest tests of the year. If they can come through that then the future is very bright indeed.

LTU (1-7) vs Whittlesea (2-9)
Saturday 6:00pm at Darebin
It has not been the best of season for either of these clubs but the chance is here for one of them at least to make a difference with another `w'. Form says Whittlesea should sneak in.

Warrnambool (10-0) vs Diamond Valley ( 6-4)
Saturday 6:00 at the Arc
The Warrnambool girls come home with their perfect record intact and face a side that took them to overtime in their first game this season. DV will need to be at their very best to repeat that performance.

Melbourne University (2-7) vs Blackburn (5-3)
Saturday 7:00pm at Melbourne University
The Black Angels have a for and against percentage above .90 which tells us they are plenty competitive, but unable to convert tight games into wins. Blackburn should take this, but we are expecting MU to start improving their conversion rate very soon.

Werribee (5-5) vs Diamond Valley (6-4)
Sunday 12:00pm at Werribee
The toughest of Big V road trips for this division, with DV at Warrnambool before coming here. Werribee need to take full advantage of that if they are to put themselves back into the top four.

Blackburn (5-3) vs LTU (1-7)
Sunday 1:00pm at Veneto
Both teams are backing up for their second game of the weekend and both in familiar territory - this being LTU's home venue last year as well. Blackburn should be able to do the job defensively on LTU.
