The Heat increased their lead at each change and outclassed the Pistons at the American Airlines Arena as they took a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series.

Wade netted 35 points on 13-of-17 shooting, while O'Neal was dominant at both ends of the court with 27 points and 12 boards.

Chauncey Billups had a team-high 31 points for the Pistons, while Richard Hamilton finished with 20.

Detroit was unable to regain the lead after the Heat edged ahead in the opening minutes of the game, but Billups led a spirited fight back at the start of the final term.

Back-to-back triples from Billups sparked an 11-0 run that saw the Pistons get back to within one point (73-74), but Wade and O'Neal stepped up and ignited an 11-2 run of their own to take back control.

The visitors couldn't get back into the game after that and Miami held on for comfortable win.

Game Four will be played at the same venue on Monday.
