The Pioneers returned home after a tough road trip and although starting a little slowly were a new team from the outset. Some inspired play by Chris Mason lead the Pioneers to the front in the third quarter and they were never headed. Holmes was back to his best with 18 third quarter points and Jeffree found his stroke in the last to keep the Pioneers in front. It was a total team performance for the Pioneers with all nine players getting on the score board.

OVERTIME
Both teams played tough and the lead changed consistently throughout the game. Supercats Jamie Medved was fouled with only seconds remaining in regular time and put the game into overtime by sinking three free throws. Geelong took control in overtime despite a late surge by the Raiders.

OVERTIME
In what proved a highly entertaining game that went into overtime with scores tied at 118 a piece at full time. Ballarat proved that they would give anything to win. Being down for most of the game by only a small margin, they were able to create stops and then score themselves in the final 3 minutes of the game to force the overtime. Ballarat then went on to dominate the overtime period to run out winners 134 to 126. Highlights of the game for Hobart were Mark Banovic and Anthony Stewart's shooting from 3 point land with both landing 6 of 17 and 8 of 19 respectively. For Ballarat it was Paul Larmand, Braith Cox and Ricky Daniels who were the major threats Larmand with 30 points 8 board, Cox 29 points and 13 assists and Daniels 19 points and 20 boards.

Geelong (108) defeated Bendigo (104)
A tough physical game with Geelong leading from the start with the Cats up by 11 at the half time break 55 to 44. Geelong got out to a 19 point lead half way through the third only for Bendigo to claw it back to a 3 point deficit with 2 minutes to go in the fourth. Shawn Myers hit 2 big threes in the last minute to help Geelong to a 4 point win.

Ballarat (66) defeated Launceston (53)
The game between Ballarat Lady Miners and Launceston Tornadoes was a much closer game than anticipated. Ballarat lead the whole game but to Launceston credit they never gave in always keeping in touch with Ballarat. Launcestons talls in Jasmine Finnigan and Crista Hays provided some headaches for Ballarat in defence with Finnigan scoring 21 points and Hays scoring 13 points. But at the other end of the court it was Karen Ashby who yet again was Ballarat's leading scorer with 21 points with good back up from Rachelle Sewell who hit 14. In a good team performance Ballarat won 66 to 53.

Bendigo (93) defeated Launceston (55)
Solid start by the Lady Braves who were lead well by Dee Butler. The Lady Braves skipped out to a solid lead of 52 to 27 at the half time break. Bendigo kept the pressure up with 20 points to both Michelle Fletcher and Dee Butler. Launceston’s leading scorers were Jasmine Finnigan with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
