Hooiveld, who has is successfully carving out a career as a myotherpaist, has been carving out a big reputation at the Kilsyth club for many years.

Considered a natural leader, Hooiveld's drive and enthusiasm for the game of basketball is well known at the club, and she goes beyond simply playing for the Cobra's successful women's program.

As well as acting as an Assistant for the Youth League team in which she plays, Hooiveld also is Assistant Coach with the programs Under 16 first team.

She provides assistant and advice to other players within the program and despite her relatively young age, is one of the most respected "seniors" within the Kilsyth Club.

On top of that, her myotherapy skills are often called on by colleagues and players as well.

Of course, Hooiveld is no stranger to success on the court. In 2000 she was the won the league scoring title, MVP title and was included in the All Star five side - in what was then known as the Premier league.

Since then she has gone on to play ABA with the Cobra's, was again named in the league's All Star team (2001) and was an emergency for the Victorian state team that played in the 2000 Youth Olympics.

All of that adds up to a Queen of the Court Award for Week 8 and acknowledgement by the league and BV in the form of a $100.00 voucher to be presented at an upcoming game.

The Queen of the Court promotion is a joint promotion between the Big V and Basketball Victoria recognising the outstanding contribution women and girls make to the health of basketball in Victoria. The promotion is supported by Sport and Recreation Victoria.

Basketball Victoria is in the second year of a three year SRV funded program aimed at enhancing the participation of females in the sport - Big V is proud to be supporting that.
