Kate McMeekan-Ruscoe was in sensational form last week, and her efforts will need to be contained this week by the Lady Bandits. After two successive victories Frankston only sit one game outside the top four, and need to score another victory this weekend to remain in contention.

Bendigo "IGA" Lady Braves vs Nunawading Spectres
Due to an Australian Opals and Sapphires cap this weekend in Geelong, this game was changed to a Thursday night to allow all squad members to play. Nunawading were the advocates of this change due to seven players affected with Opals or Sapphires commitments. Bendigo signed Australian Opal Kristi Harrower last week, and helped the Lady Braves record a victory over top placed Knox in her first game back from Europe. Her battle in the backcourt with Spectres Kathleen Macleod will be a fantastic match-up.

Launceston "Integrated Training" Tornadoes vs NW Tasmania "McDonalds" Thunder
Both teams were defeated convincingly by Kilsyth last weekend, and if NW Tasmania wants to remain in finals contention, a victory this weekend is a must. Tornadoes restricted players Finningan and Hays continue to keep the scoreboard ticking for their team, but Coach Malcolm Gardner needs other players to step up and produce more at the offensive end for Launceson to be competitive.

Knox Ford Raiders vs Ballarat "Community Health" Lady Miners
Raiders Hibbert and Grima will be in Geelong attending the Opals camp and should be unavailable for their Grand Final re-match with Ballarat. The Lady Miners have been struggling of late, but have built a great rivalry with Knox and will enjoy the match this week. After a disappointing loss in Bendigo last week, coach Mark Holland will be keen for a better performance from his team this weekend. A lot will be expected of SEABL All times games played leader Chelsea Laing, as she will move back into the starting line-up due to Grima's absence. Laing will be required to contain the impressive talents of Miners MVP favourite Karen Ashby, who is having a stellar season.
