A coach of outstanding experience and quality, despite his relatively young age, O'Loughlin will be on the bench with the Supercats for the first time when they go on the road this weekend for an SEABL double against the Canberra Gunners and AIS.

The coach of the Geelong under-12 boys team, O'Loughlin is also the director of coaching at Christian College, the head coach of the Victoria Country under-16 boys team and was named 2005 Victorian Junior Coach of the Year.

Having proven his coaching ability at the junior level, O'Loughlin is eager to step up to the SEABL and the Supercats alongside head coach Mark Leader and lead assistant coach Alan McKee.

"I jumped at the chance when Mark spoke to me about joining the Supercats coaching staff," O'Loughlin said. "It is great to become involved in a successful program and there is extra interest for me because I have seen many of the current Supercats players develop from juniors into the players they are today.'"

O'Loughlin's appointment with the Supercats is another strong vote of confidence in the Basketball Geelong programs that enable the local association to supply the bulk of the Supercats' playing roster.
