The AIS boys have been in Taiwan at the William Jones cup and have won their past 10 SEABL matches, and in a battle with Geelong and Canberra for first position. A victory is vital for the AIS if they want to finish first or second and have a double chance.

Albury/Wodonga "Bendigo Bank" Bandits vs Mildura "QantasLink" Mavericks
Despite both teams sitting at the bottom of the east men table and out of finals contention, both teams will be using a no holds barred approach to grab the win. Coach Jim Wilson will be hoping the home court advantage will be a factor for the Bandits despite a 3-8 record at Albury Stadium this season. Bandits Nick Payne (20.8ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.9apg) is having a standout season and in line for a All SEABL team position at season's end, but will need to showcase his full array of skills against the Mavericks Rhys Carter (21.5ppg, 7.3rpg, 3.9apg) this weekend.

Canberra "Club Lime" Gunners vs "Oasis" Hobart Chargers
On paper Canberra will go into this contest as firm favourites, as they currently hold a six game winning streak against Hobart when played in the Nations Capital. Chargers Banovic and Stewart are playing quality basketball at the moment, and if the Gunners are to be successful, Coach Frank Arsego needs a solid defensive job by his guards. The chargers duo has shown in recent weeks they can destroy their opposition if not contained, and will be hell bent on continuing the trend this weekend.

"St Laurence" Geelong Supercats vs Nunawading Spectres
Nunawading have a very slim chance of making the finals this year, and need to win each of its remaining four games. Nunawading have proved this is achievable, as they recorded seven straight wins in 2004 to make the grand final. Both teams have talented youngsters, and the matchup between Spectres Matt O'Hea (19.2ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.3apg) and Supercats Jason Reardon (18.1ppg, 9.4rpg, 4.9apg) will be a great battle, with both players keen to guide their respective team to victory.

Australian Institute of Sport vs Knox Ford Raiders
The last team to defeat AIS was Knox Raiders in round nine, and coach Damian Cotter will be keen to record a 2-0 sweep against the team this year. Both teams are currently in third position, but have the ability to move up the ladder should they record the victory. Massingale (25.5ppg, 8.2rpg) had his best game this season last week against Kilsyth, and will be keen for another solid performance. His battle with AIS shooting supremo Stephen Weigh (17.5ppg, 4.9rpg) is sure to entertain the Canberra locals.

Bendigo "Hume & Iser" Braves vs "Patrick" NW Tasmania Thunder
Bendigo currently hold a three game winning streak against NW Tasmania, including a 94-83 victory in round one, and will be favourites to record another win this week against the struggling Thunder line-up. After an impressive season start, NW Tasmania has lost their past eleven matches, and Coach Mark Radford is desperate to end their losing woes.

Mt Gambier "Carter Holt Harvey" Pioneers vs Ballarat "Telstra CountryWide/Telstra Shop" Miners
Having recaptured first position with a victory against Bendigo last weekend, Miners coach Paul Tudorovic will be keen to secure another victory this week and keep a stranglehold on their ladder lead. Since the loss of import Villi Morton, Ballarat local Phil Benn has increased his productivity and giving his team valuable contributions off the bench. His impact along with Brett Goodgame off the bench has been a major factor in the Miners success this year. Mt Gambier does not have a deep bench and may struggle against the first placed Miners.

Club Kilsyth Cobras vs Mildura "QantasLink" Mavericks
Kilsyth struggled offensively against Nunawading last week without restricted players Shanahan (20.2ppg, 6.0rpg, 5.0apg) and Bridgewater (18.7ppg, 8.1rpg, 3.0bpg). Cobras coach Grant Wallace will be keen to have them in uniform this week, despite them falling out of finals contention after three straight losses. Pride will be online for both clubs as they strive to finish the season on a winning note.

Canberra "Club Lime" Gunners vs Knox Ford Raiders
This is the first meeting between the two clubs this season, and both teams will be eager to record the victory and hold the advantage in their second clash next week at Knox. The Gunners rely heavily on Denman, Keys and Petrie to keep the scoreboard ticking, and the Raiders are very strong defensive team. If Raiders can contain two of the big three, the likelihood of recording a victory will increase.

Frankston "Cambur" Blues vs "Patrick" NW Tasmania Thunder
Frankston receive valuable contributions from imports Gruber (23.5ppg, 12.9rpg) and Gilbert (26.6ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.0apg) each week, and is a major reason for their current fourth place on the east men ladder. Locally developed Andrew Harms is also a major asset to the Frankston Blues line up and when all three players are playing well, a victory is a certainty. NW Tasmania will need to be aware of this and focus entirely on trying to contain either of the Blues imports to record the win.
