Game of the Week
Warragul (16-3) vs Monash University (13-5)
Saturday 8:00pm at Drouin
These two sides played each other in the first round this year after playing out last years grand final series and they back up again here in the final weekend of the regular season. Lots is riding on it from Monash's point of view, if not from Warragul. The Warriors have secured first, wrapped up last weekend when they comfortably defeated Melton.

For Monash, things are a little tighter. They have two games this weekend, including this, and will start favourites in just one. If Warragul beat them, as expected, and both Maccabi and LTU get the wins they expect then the students finish fourth - good enough for a home final but sudden death thereafter. Of course, if the students win both games this weekend they'll finish second.

Western Port (5-13) vs McKinnon (11-8)
Saturday 7:00pm at Western Port
The Cougars have two games this weekend and with fifth position locked in, and a number of players under injury and illness clouds, it must be tempting to take in a makeshift squad - do that and the Steelers should win and possibly lift themselves beyond 10th.

Horsham (8-11) vs Melton (6-13)
Saturday 7:30pm at Horsham
The Hornets close out the year with a home game and the locals should turn this into an All Star type affair for the home crowd. Horsham will finish sixth with a win here.

Keysborough (2-17) vs Craigieburn (7-11)
Saturday 7:30pm at Springers
The Cougars take on the Eagles and will try to eke out their third win of the year. Craigieburn should win this, but Keysborough's form is good enough for the upset.

McKinnon (11-8) vs Maccabi (14-5)
Sunday 1:00pm at Oakleigh
If Monash Uni win twice this weekend and LTU and Maccabi both win then these two will find themselves matching up against each other again in next weeks elimination final. The Warriors should win this, too deep and too strong for a weakened McKinnon group.

Monash Uni (13-5) vs Western Port (5-13)
Sunday 2:00pm at Monash
Whatever happens Saturday we cannot see Western Port getting the points here. They just do not look to have the depth and firepower to go with a Monash side intent on getting its game together for finals.

Craigieburn (7-11) vs LTU (14-5)
Sunday 2:30pm at Craigieburn
The only danger in this game is if LTU get it completely wrong and drop to fourth as a result. Craigieburn, having also played Saturday, should not pose too many problems for what looks to us like the form team of the competition.

Division Two Women

Game of the Week
Southern Peninsula (13-5) vs Mildura (15-3)
Saturday 6:15pm at Hillview
A stunning conclusion to the Division Two Women's competition sees Mildura head to Melbourne for game between themselves and the current third placed Craigieburn and fourth placed Southern Peninsula. Either game could be game of the week because they both have a huge bearing on everyone's final placing. If SP win here, and win by more than 5 points, then they claim head to head. If Mildura then fall again Sunday, in what looks like an even tougher much-up, they could finish as low as fourth.

Mildura though must come to Melbourne full of confidence. With Under 16 and Under 18 nationals out of the way they head to Melbourne at full strength or very close to that. Last week they simply demolished Ringwood, a team seemingly on the rise as the season closed out. They will have no negative thought though - two wins secures them a first up home final, and that is what they'll be aiming to achieve.

Sherbrooke (0-19) vs Mornington (5-14)
Saturday 5:30pm at Monbulk
Sherbrooke, along with Coburg in YLW, are looking like the only teams that will pass through 2006 without a win. Their last chance to change that is here, with Mornington coming to visit.

Ringwood (9-10) vs Altona (4-14)
Saturday 8:15pm at Maroondah
The Hawks hit a real road bump last weekend at Mildura, and they will be looking to see off Anna Jose's brief involvement with their team with a positive result here - Altona with two games, tomorrow's more of a chance of providing the win.

Monash University (13-6) vs Southern Peninsula
Sunday 12:00pm at Monash
Win or lose against Mildura the Sharks put it all on the line here again. If SP lose Saturday then this game decides fourth and fifth. If SP win Saturday then Monash need to beat them by more than 14 to claim fourth.

Latrobe City (10-9) vs Keilor (9-10)
Sunday 12:00pm at Traralgon
Both teams have displayed some pretty good basketball in recent weeks but at full strength, which the Energy should be at home, we'd expect them to take this.

Craigieburn (15-4) vs Mildura (15-3)
Sunday 12:30pm at Craigieburn
Day two of Mildura's doomsday double but people probably needed to be reminded that the Sunbeams are not 15-3 without good cause. They'll back themselves to take both but the Eagles are in great form, and will have plenty to say about that.

Altona (4-14) vs Melton (3-16)
Sunday 1:00pm at Altona
The Gators would fancy finishing their home season with a win and have an excellent chance of doing just that here. Melton can draw level on four wins if they cause what would be a small upset.
