A must win game for Frankston, as they need to win all four remaining games to have any chance of moving up the ladder into first or second and receiving the second chance. Both teams have not played each other yet this season, and although Mt Gambier can not make the finals, the team will be playing for pride as they currently sit at the bottom of the South men ladder. Holmes was disappointing last weekend against Ballarat and will be keen for an improved effort this week.

“Oasis” Hobart Chargers vs Albury/Wodonga “Bendigo Bank” Bandits
After a disappointing 0-2 weekend in Canberra, Hobart coach Mark Chivers will be hoping his team can finish the regular season with a victory at home. It is unknown if Sharp shooter Anthony Stewart will play, as Hobart are resting him due to having fourth position on the South Men ladder confirmed. Albury/Wodonga will be without Jeff Dowdell as he has returned to WA to commence pre-season training with the Perth Wildcats NBL team. This will be a big loss for the Bandits, as Hobart’s forward Daniel George (20.9ppg, 13.5rpg) is in stellar form at the moment and will need to be contained if the Bandits are to record the win.

“Patrick” NW Tasmania Thunder vs Albury/Wodonga “Bendigo Bank” Bandits
Having moved off the bottom of the ladder after a sensational come from behind victory over second placed Bendigo last weekend, NW Tasmania coach Mark Radford will be keen for another solid performance this week in their last home game for season 2006. Imports Justin Allen (20.8ppg, 14.2rpg) and Ben Sturgill (19.0ppg, 11.0rpg) will be hoping for a good game, as it will be the last game for them both in a Thunder uniform this year in front of there adopted home town supporters.

“St Laurence” Geelong Supercats vs Ballarat “Telstra CountryWide/Telstra Shop” Miners
Both teams are guaranteed a finals berth, but their final ladder position is unknown, and therefore both teams will be eager to record the win to help their chances of securing a top two finish in their respective conference. Ballarat recorded a 113-101 victory in round fourteen, but have lost their past two matches at the Arena against Geelong. A large crowd will be expected at the Arena with a Miners vs Supercats legends match prior to the SEABL game as a bonus for all supporters at the game.

Mildura “QantasLink” Mavericks vs Nunawading Spectres
Nunawading finals hopes were squashed on the weekend after losing to Geelong, and although both teams are out of finals contention, a victory is still a major requirement for both teams. Mildura and Nunawading battle for the Smythe/O’Sullivan cup each match, and after earning the cup in round nine with a 117-93 victory, Nunawading will be keen to keep the cup in their possession.

Bendigo “Hume & Iser” Braves vs Australian Institute of Sport
Australian Institute of Sport has a tough weekend, as they play their final two regular season games against quality opposition on the road. AIS are the inform team at present and have been impressive on the road this season with a 7-4 record. AIS youngster Joe Ingles (11.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 2.8apg) has been a consistent threat for the AIS, and a major contributor on their 12 game winning streak. His efforts will need to be contained by the Braves, if they are to clinch a victory and remain in the hunt for a top two finish in the south.

Frankston “Cambur” Blues vs Knox Ford Raiders
Knox Raiders have a two game winning streak at Frankston Basketball Stadium, but have lost their past two matches to Frankston, including an 80-106 defeat in round two this season. Both teams have changed since this contest, as Knox has added offensive strength in Gerard Leonard (12.5ppg, 2.3apg), and Frankston have lost Nathan Taylor to injury. Both teams are in contention for a top two finish in their conference, but a loss this week could end either teams hopes.

Club Kilsyth Cobras vs Canberra “Club Lime” Gunners
Canberra recorded an easy 102-66 victory in round two this season, but have a troublesome 4-9 career record at the snakepit. Kilsyth on the other hand have also been terrible at the snakepit this season with a 3-8 home record. Cobras Chris Payne (14.0ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.3apg) has stepped up superbly in the absence of injured Matt Shanahan, and coach Grant Wallace will need another solid offensive performance this week by Chris if the Cobras are to record the win.

Ballarat “Telstra CountryWide/Telstra Shop” Miners vs Australian Institute of Sport
Miners guard Braith Cox (21.2ppg, 4.4rpg, 5.9apg) is having another great season, and destroyed the AIS with 31pts, 4rebs and 4ass in their earlier contest and will need to be contained this week if the AIS are to record the win. Patrick Mills will not be travelling with the AIS this week due to niggling injuries, and has decided to stay home and rest for the upcoming Emus Oceania Qualification series against New Zealand next weekend. With Tyson Demos out for the season with a knee injury, a lot will be expected of youngsters Seebohm and Louis to contain the offensive talents of Miners Braith Cox.

Knox Ford Raiders vs Canberra “Club Lime” Gunners
A fourth quarter collapse resulted in a loss to Canberra last weekend, after Knox lead for the first three quarters. Raiders coach Damian Cotter will be heel bent on making sure this does not occur again this week, and hopefully reverse the result from last week. Gunners Keys and Denman were major contributors down the stretch, due to foul trouble to Raiders big men Koford and Bektas. Another area, coach Cotter will be keen to reverse this weekend.
