League CEO Matthew Cowling announced the appointments today, after phone conversations with both Coaches over the last 24 hours.

The All Star Coaches were selected this year using an early vote in for the league's Coach of the Year Award, a vote not normally conducted this early, but brought forward to allow for selection purposes.

Moule won the women's vote, and Hind was runner up by a single point to Darryl McDonald in the men's vote, with McDonald ruled out of Coaching the men's All Stars due to his playing and training commitments with the Melbourne Tigers.

Cowling said the league was delighted both Coaches had accepted. "Both of these guys have done a terrific job in 2006, they both bring significant credibility to the role and both will do a fine job in bringing these teams together."

The All Stars will commence training next week, with invitations to players be forwarded in the next 48 hours.

The league also advised today that some players outside of Championship would be invited to participate.

"Both Coaches have already nominated one or two players playing in Division One competition that have performed exceptionally in 2006" Cowling said.

"They recognise that some players are not playing at Championship level because of geography or other reasons but have earned the right to be invited to train, and compete for a spot in the final team."

Big V Championship Players currently signed with NBL or WNBL clubs will not be eligible for All Star selection, and players who are continuing to play in finals will not be expected to train until finals commitments have been completed.

The Big V All Stars Men have scheduled games against the South Dragons at Dandenong on September 12 and Shepparton on September 15. The Women are scheduled to play Dandenong on Pakenham on September 9, and are continuing to negotiate with the Bulleen Boomers for a suitable date.
