Having guided her team to a much needed 72-64 victory against Kilsyth, Ballarat Lady Miners centre Karen Ashby receives her second Player of the Week recognition this season, after a sensational performance on the weekend. Ashby finished the game with 26 points @ 68%, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals and was a major contributor for her team. Ashby was also dominant at the defensive end, containing fellow MVP candidate Lil Keane to only six points for the game.

Other notable performances were:

* U/21 Australian Youth Player of the Year candidate Jenna O'Hea continues to keep her team in finals contention, helping Nunawading Spectres to a 94-73 victory with 19pts@41%, 16rebs, 4ass, 2blks and 2stls.

* Launceston Tornadoes Christa Hays averaged 24pts and 12 rebs for the weekend, helping her team to a 1-1 weekend on the mainland. Christa recorded 28pts, 10rebs, 2blks in the Tornaodes 69-61 victory against Albury/Wodonga.

Ricky Daniels - Ballarat Miners
Ballarat Miners Ricky Daniels receives his third Player of the Week recognition this season after averaging 22 points, 12 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2 steals. Daniels has been a great addition to the Miners line-up this year, and a major reason for their ladder leading 19-6 season record. Ricky recorded 24pts, 11rebs, 1ass and 1stl on Saturday night in the Miners 104-106 loss at Geelong. However the following day, Ricky showed that at 34 years of age, he is still a quality player with his second Triple Double this season. Ricky recorded 20pts@77%, 13rebs, 14ass, 2blks and 4stls to help the Miners to a 113-89 victory against AIS

SEABL East Men Player of the Week

Chaz Briggs - Mildura Mavericks
Despite another loss for his team, Mildura Mavericks import Chaz Briggs had another top quality game and earns his fourth Player of the Week recognition. Briggs played the entire game and finished with 36 points @ 47%, 22 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 blocks and 5 steals. Chaz was consistent in each quarter, and scored 11 points and 7 rebounds in each of the third and fourth quarters. Chaz currently leads the league in rebounds, and third in points per game and is a contender for the East Men Most Valuable Player Award.

Other notable performances were:

* Knox Raiders import CJ Massingale helped his team to a 1-1 weekend averaging 30.5pts, 6.5rebs and 2.5ass. CJ had 34pts, 7rebs, 3stls on Sunday in the Raiders 81-99 loss to Canberra.

* Nick Payne averaged 26pts, 7rebs, 1.5ass and 1.5stls for the weekend, helping the Albury/Wodonga Bandits to a rewarding 2-0 weekend in Tasmania.

* Canberra Gunners forward Anthony Petrie helped his team to the East Men minor premiership with a successful 2-0 weekend. Petrie averaged 21.5pts, 4.5rebs, 2ass and 2stls.
