Julie Ofsoski will play her 250th career South East Australian Basketball League game this week, when her Frankston Lady Blues team takes the court this Saturday night against the Ballarat Lady Miners at the Win Minerdome.

In her 249 games to date Julie is the all time SEABL Women leader in points and rebounds, having scored 4688 points and 2503 rebounds. Julie has also recorded 241 assists, 323 steals and has a career field goal percentage of 49%.

Julie, born in New Zealand joined the SEABL in 1992 with the Bayside Blues as a 20 year old and scored 8 points and 4 rebounds in her first game on 10th May, 1992. No one knew at the time, but Julie was destined to be a star in the league for many years. 13 seasons later Ofsoski is the eighth women to achieve the milestone of 250 SEABL Women games and will be presented with a Plaque recognising her achievement at the SEABL Grand Final this year

In 1993, Julie had a memorable year, winning the Women's CBA title and was also awarded a position on the All SEABL Women Team. Ofsoski averaged 18.5pts, 9.8rebs and 1.5stls for the season, and was a dominant force in the paint with team mate Sue Humble (nee Barton).

The following year Julie had another solid season and earned All CBA Women team honours, averaging 23.7 points, 13.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.9 steals, and had established herself as a force in the league. In 1994 Julie recorded 45 points vs Sydney on 30th July, and 23 rebounds versus Bendigo on 11th June, which stand today as her career highs.

1997 was also a big year for Julie, as she earned her third All CBA team honours and also helped the Frankston Blues to the CBA South/East Women title, and also defeated Townsville to collect the CBA National Title. Ofsoski averaged 23.1 points, 11.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals for the regular season, but was sensational in the National finals averaging 27pts and 10rebs.

Julie did not play in the SEABL competition between 1999 and 2001, deciding on a career move to North Queensland where she played with the Cairns Dolphins and Burdekin Wildcats.

Ofsoski returned to Melbourne and the SEABL for the 2002 season, playing under long time coach John Humble at Knox Raiders. After three seasons with Knox, Julie decided to return to her first club Frankston for the 2005 season, averaged 17.5 points and 7.3 rebounds and received All SEABL Women team honours for a sensational season.

However the highlight of Ofsoski's career would be representing her native country New Zealand at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics.
