Playing on their training court (MSAC) before 1,500 local fans, the South Dragons have defeated the Wollongong Hawks 118-109 to take their pre-season record to three wins and one loss.

A dominant performance from Captain Shane Heal down the stretch sealed the win for the Dragons, Hammer connecting with four threes and hitting 18 points in the final term.

Jacob Holmes top scored with 32 points and hauled in 11 rebounds in 42 minutes, and import Kavossy Franklin was impressive on debut with 21 points.

For the Hawks Glen Saville had 29 points and 11 rebounds, and Cortez Groves was strong with 26.

The Dragons next home pre-season clash will come against the Big V All-Stars in Dandenong and Shepparton September 12 and 15.
