Tegan Fowler, Carleigh Evans, Jodie Datson and Mel Colcott all scored in double figures as the All Stars outlasted Dandenong in a high quality game 76-73.

The Rangers debuted recruits Aneka Kerr (Townsville) and Larissa Cavanagh (Bulleen) but it was returning players Alison Downie and Australian junior star Jenna O'Hea who impressed most for the WNBL outfit.

Downie led all scorers with 26 points while O'Hea had 22 and both played significant minutes as the All Stars offense clicked with considerable confidence.

The Big V girls shot at 47% for the evening, and were even better from the arc where they buried six of 12 three pointers. Tegan Fowler was three from three from downtown, each time making big baskets to send the All Stars in front or rebuild a slender lead.

Geethu Anna Jose showed plenty of nerves in what was for her a big game, playing with a group she hardly knew and against WNBL quality oppposition but she delivered a couple of big blocked shots, including one on giant Ranger Marita Payne.

Coach Jeremi Moule, in the spirit of the All Star team, ensured every player spent time on court. By quarter time every player bar one had seen court time, and no member of the All Stars played more than 30 minutes.

Dandenong struggled without their usual guard rotation. Sam Richards and Caitlyn Ryan did not play, and All Stars point Jodie Datson had too much savy for emerging youngsters Emma Andrews and Kellie Palazzolo. Datson finished with 13 points and five assists.

It will be tougher going today when the team fronts Bulleen at Hume City at 2pm. Bulleen are expected to be missing only Holly Grima, and with home favourite Sharin Milner leading Bulleen, they will contend well with the All Stars back court.
