4/09/2007
The Singapore Slingers have wrapped up the Brunei Cup in third place, completing the pre-season tournament with a convincing win against the Darwin Airport Resort All-Stars 106-63.
Chris Cameron was a major impact on the court for the Slingers, scoring a game-high of 28 points, closely followed by Blagoj Janev with 24. Rod Grizzard and Ben Knight, continuing to perform well, posted 18 and 12 respectively.
The team will now return to Singapore with just under two-and-a-half weeks to go until the commencement of the 2007/08 NBL regular season. The focus will now turn to further developing the squad into a polished unit and making an impact from game one.
The 19th of September will see international basketball once again return to the Singapore Indoor Stadium for another season as the ‘Pride of the Lion City’ go up against NBL powerhouse and championship runners-up the Melbourne Tigers.
Tickets have now officially gone on sale at all SISTIC outlets with general and reserved seating tickets ranging from $6-$16. A new-look schedule will boast more weekend games as this season will see the inclusion of seven Family Fun Days and a new ticket category in the Super 7 Sunday Season Pass.
