The Dandenong Jayco Rangers announced last week at their Season Launch at the Drum Theatre Dandenong that club veterans Samantha Richards and Caitlin Ryan will Co Captain the Rangers in Season 2006/07.

At 25 and 23 years of age the pair is considered the veterans of the team and with that bring a wealth of experience and leadership skills.

Both Richards and Ryan have been the cornerstones of the Ranger’s three grand final appearances and back to back championships, however the duo are acutely aware that the loss of several key players during the off season means that the team needs to refocus and regroup for coming season.

When asked about the appointment both Richards and Ryan added that “we are excited and thrilled about being named Co-Captain, and we are looking forward to the challenges”.

Only one of the Co-Captains – Caitlin Ryan will be taking the court for the Season opener and grand final rematch against the Canberra Capitals on Friday night at 7.30 in Canberra, while Samantha Richards is still recovering from a knee injury.

The Rangers are delighted to have Channel Nine media commentator Nicole Livingstone as their Number 1 ticket holder, and look forward to seeing her and her family at their games.
