Harrower has coached the Bendigo SEABL team for the past 11 seasons leading the Lady Braves to nine finals campaigns, six of the past eight grand finals, four SEABL championships and two ABA National titles.

He has been named SEABL Coach of the Year a record five times and has an impressive 72% win-loss record (194-76).

The Chair of the Bendigo WNBL said Harrower was a stand out candidate.

"Bernie has an excellent record as a senior women's coach and has overseen one of the most successful women's basketball programs in Australia," Ms James said.

"Importantly, Bernie is also experienced at recruiting high calibre players to Bendigo which is always a greater challenge for teams outside capital cities."

Harrower will continue to fulfil his duties as Head Coach of the Bendigo Lady Braves during the 2007 SEABL season.
