Manu Ginobili (26 points) and Tony Parker (20 points) toiled hard for the Spurs, but all-star forward Tim Duncan was quiet, held to just 13 points by the Heat.

In Cleveland, Sasha Pavlovic scored 21 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 99-90 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Pavlovic stepped up for the Cavs as superstar LeBron James was held to just 18 points on 5-of-16 shooting, while Kobe Bryant nailed a game-high 36 points for the Lakers.

In Phoenix, Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich each scored 29 points as the Chicago Bulls upset the Phoenix Suns 116-103.

Missing starters Steve Nash and Boris Diaw, the Suns overturned an 11-point half-time deficit to take a five-point lead into the last change.

However, Hinrich netted 14 points in the last quarter as the Suns ran out of legs as the Bulls pulled away to a comfortable victory.

In other matches the Minnesota Timberwolves edged past the Boston Celtics 109-107, the Atlanta Hawks upset the Golden State Warriors 106-105, the Portland Trailblazers proved too strong for the Washington Wizards 94-73, the Seattle Supersonics overpowered the Sacramento Kings 114-103, the Dallas Mavericks thrashed the Philadelphia 76ers 106-89 and the Indiana Pacers defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 94-80.
