Adam Quick is currently playing in the NBL for the South Dragons; he joins the team to replace Nathan Crosswell, who is taking time off this season to pursue other interests.

Quick is a former college player from the States where he played for the University of Portland, home of the Pilots. In the 2002-03 season for Portland, Quick ranked second in the West Coast Conference in three point field goal percentages as well as leading the WCC in assists per game in both 2000-01 and 2001-02.

He was team MVP on Australian Young Men's (Under 22) national team which participated in the 2001 World Championship

"I am excited about playing with the Sabres in the BIG V season. The Sabres have traditionally been thereabouts at play off time and also have a good history working with guys along the way," said Quick.

Amy (Botto) Quick played college ball at the University of Portland, as well. During her senior year, Amy led her team in scoring and free throw percentages. Quick was also in the top ten for scoring in the West Coast Conference. Most recently Quick played locally in Townsville.

Quick said that she is really excited to be a part of Sabres basketball and can't wait to get on the court and starting playing.

Coach Chizik said, "Quick has a nice shot and will bring a great perimeter aspect to our game. Plus the fact that Amy is a tall guard she will be able to play inside for us as well. We are excited to have her on the team."

Having Amy and Adam as part of the Sabres program not only do they bring their athletic skills and talents to the game but also they are first husband-wife duo. "We are excited to be a part of the same program again and have the chance to watch each other play," said Amy Quick.

Also signing with the Sabres is Simon Conn. Conn played college basketball in the States from 2003-2006 for Gardner Webb, home of the Runnin' Bulldogs. During his time as a Runnin' Bulldog, he lead the team in rebounds, scoring, block shots, and field goal percentage, he was also First Team All-Conference.

After his playing days at Gardner Webb, he went over to Poland to play ball for the Kager Gdymia Vikings. Conn is looking forward to being a part of Sandringham Sabres Basketball, where he feels he can help out the team with his size, scoring & rebounding ability.

Coach Crivelli said, "It's great to add these two quality people and players for this season. The BIG V is a great standard and having these two and a great group of existing core players is exciting. I am looking forward to the start of the season."
