Cobras finalise local SEABL signings
16/02/2007
The Club Kilsyth Cobras are pleased to announce the signing of their local players for the 2007 SEABL Season. Erica McMenamin, Gemma Kerr, Sarah Parsons and Clare Papavs return from last year's group and are joined by a group of upcoming stars from the Big V Youth League team.
Caitlin Mulhall, Hayley Moffat, Kaysie Noble, Karen Predergast and Laura Gebbing all performed well last season and have been rewarded with a new challenge and opportunity in SEABL.
Jason Knight SEABL Women's Head Coach said "with the losses of Mel Fox (travel), Jessica Bibby (Albury), Tiff Hodgson (Qld), Michelle Blanskby (inj) and Kate Legg for the 2007 season, I am pleased to have the rest of the core group of locals returning to the squad. It is going to be a tough season for all, but work rate at training and general attitudes tells me the entire squad is very happy to rise to the challenges set before them."
"The experienced pairing of Gemma Kerr and Erica McMenamin will be asked to carry a much larger workload throughout 2007. I feel both are more than capable of what is being asked of them."
"The exciting signings for the Kilsyth crowds will be that of Clare Papavs and Sarah Parsons. Both have served a good apprenticeship over the past few season and I see this as a huge break out year for both."
"We have chosen to add five of our Youth League members of 2006 to our senior squad for 2007. Mulhall, Moffat, Noble, Predergast and Gebbing will all play with the SEABL team during the preseason games with a view of extending this opportunity into the regular season. All five of these players have been training well and I believe will be very productive and give an honest effort when call upon to play" said Knight.
With a few more exciting signings still to come, the Cobras will again be a team to look out for in 2007.
