Nash, who has played 288 NBL games, has agreed to play the NBL off-season with his former team, which will be a huge addition to the front court. The 197cm forward will join Daniel George and Ray Browning to give Hobart a big presence under the basket -- something the club has lacked in recent times.

Nash 30, has just completed his 12th season in the NBL with the Adelaide 36ers, who were disappointing in not making the NBL finals. Nash also had a below-par season individually, averaging four points and five rebounds, and will be hoping to regain some form in the SEABL. However, he was nevertheless honoured last week with the 36ers' club award for best team man.

Nash last played for the Chargers in 2005 after missing the previous NBL season through injury. He was a star for Hobart that year, playing just 16 games but being named to the SEABL All-Star Five. He averaged 21 points, 14 rebounds and three assists in that stellar season.

Nash is expected to arrive in the state in the next couple of weeks and will train with his new teammates before their opening game of the season in Mt Gambier on March 2. Nash will get the chance to work once again in tandem with fellow restricted signing Anthony Stewart.

Both started their NBL careers in Hobart with the now-defunct Tassie Devils. Stewart's early-season availability is dependent on how far his Cairns Taipans make it through the NBL playoffs. The Taipans play the first of their best-of-three semi-final series tonight against the reigning champions, the Melbourne Tigers.
