The end of the South Dragons’ season is not only the end to many months of hard work for the on-court crew, but a well-deserved break for the club’s tireless volunteers.

The South Dragons’ volunteer support team comprises basketball enthusiasts of all ages and walks of life, from students right through to retirees. The 40 or so volunteers who attend each home game come from a wide range of backgrounds but share one common passion: the South Dragons.

Volunteers take on a number of roles at each and every Dragons home event. From courtside operations to assisting with entertainment, corporate functions, merchandise sales and pre/post game events, there is a role to suit all strengths and interests.

Volunteer staff may also be called upon to lend a helping hand at numerous other club events throughout the season, including the ‘Back to the ‘Burbs’ community program and much more.

While it sounds like hard yards, volunteer work offers a great insight into the club and is the ideal way to become involved with your favourite team.

Time now for all South Dragons volunteers to put their feet up in celebration of a superb debut season; the team could not have achieved such success without the tireless support of all volunteer staff.
