The McKinnon Cougars have finalised their roster for the 2007 season with what is hopefully the best signing of all, adding US import Mike Pyle this week. Pyle is a 6-6 Forward who will give the cougars some serious inside/outside scoring power while increasing their rebounding efficiency.

Pyle has an impressive career stats sheet, which is highlighted by his last year of college ball at Embury-Riddle University.

In 2006 he won the MVP for his conference on top of an all star five spot.

Pyle played in the same conference that Southern Pennisula's Ben Kersenbrock originated from. In fact it was Steve Blackley, Southern Pennisula's coach, who put the Cougars in touch with Pyle.

Cougars coach Bob Mann is excited by the new signing with it topping of a busy off season for the Cougars. "Mike will round of the squad nicely. With the bulk of our 2006 squad back and some new recruits to add, Mike's signing gives us both depth and talent. We will still be a few weeks away from our best, but we cannot wait to get the whole squad on the floor up and running together."

The Cougars have a couple of players getting over some niggling injuries but should be ready for round 1. The Cougars have added former rising start nominee Brady Walsmley back to their list and he and Tom Burns will make a formidable back court, while adding forward Luke Burke from Dandenong's Youth League 1 side and ex-junior Anthony Cribbes, who at 6-7 gives the Cougars an impressive frontline.

The Cougars are certainly keen to continue to improve on their first ever playoff in 2006.
