Williams is a versatile 6'8 forward form Houston, Texas. Williams played Division I NCAA basketball at the University of Houston under the tutelage of NBA great Clyde Drexler.

After a stellar collegiate career Williams went on to participate in preseason with two NBA franchises being the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors. To further extend his resume, Williams has also played three solid seasons with the NBA's minor league known as the NBDL.

Sabres coach Vince Crivelli is excited about his recent acquisition saying: "George has tremendous ability with potential to get better and is an upstanding young man. We welcome him and believe he can truly help us to win the Championship."

After arriving in the country on Wednesday February 28, Williams participated in two practice matches over the weekend and had this to say about his and his team's effort:

"I feel we had a great showing over the weekend. Our continuity was surprisingly ahead of my anticipation and it will only get better as we continue to gel as a team. Our time this weekend leaves me with the impression that we are in for a great season and I look forward to furthering my basketball career on the Australian landscape."
