The SEABL Tribunal has delivered its ruling on the charge laid on Hobart Chargers Player Anthony Stewart from the Hobart Chargers vs Albury/Wodonga game played on 9th March at Aurora Stadium in Hobart.

Anthony Stewart received a suspended one match penalty for his actions. This penalty will be suspended until the completion of the 2007 season.

The Tribunal was heard this afternoon via a Teleconference between Referee Tim Mills, Anthony Stewart and SEABL Tribunal Officer Rick Lewis.

Stewart had to answer to one charge:

1) Using abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards or in relation to a referee.

SEABL Tribunal Officer Rick Lewis found the reportable offence of abusive language sustained.

After hearing testimony from Tim and Anthony, Rick Lewis ruled that Anthony used Abusive language towards the referee at the completion of the match, however the act was not premeditated, nor did Anthony approach the referee.

SEABL Tribunal Officer Rick Lewis took into count Anthony's excellent reputation as a player in the SEABL and NBL over the past 20 year's.

Stewart is now looking forward to focussing on preparations for his upcoming game against Frankston on Friday night at Aurora Stadium.
