A record breaking weekend and a triple double has earned Tigers star Daryl Corletto the BigV men's Player of the Week for Week 2 of Competition.

Corletto hit a round high 46 points Saturday as the Tigers debuted for the year, beating DV away by just seven points. He hit a perfect 18 of 18 from the line, matching the league record for FT Attempts and smashing the previous FTM mark of 15.

Sunday saw more fun as Corletto played second fiddle to Matt O'Hea's scoring. While O'Hea logged 42 points, Corletto sparked his side with a triple double - 17 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in 38 minutes.

Accordingly the Tigers went 2-0 for the weekend and currently head the BigV Championship ladder.

Others in the running for the weekly award were Dandenong's Ash Cannon, who impressed with 30 points and 19 rebounds in the Rangers fine away win at the Arc; David Donaldson, who had 31/15 and five blocks against Latrobe City backing up from 18/8 against Diamond Valley and Simon Conn, who sparked the Sabres with a 35 point/16 rebound haul against Hume City.

Championship Women POTW Week 2: Michelle Brogan

Just a single game into a comeback that has its sights firmly set on Beijing, Michelle Brogan has been awarded the BigV Player of the Week award for Week 2.

The Melbourne Tigers only got their season away this weekend, having sat out the first week of competition, but it mattered little as they recorded a 16 point win over the Dandenong Rangers.

Brogan started, hit seven of 11 from the field for 20 points, and grabbed 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals while registering just a single turnover for the afternoon.

An impressive games work and one that will have plenty of sides and fans keeping their eyes on the Melbourne Tigers in coming weeks.

Competing with Brogan for the weekly gong was team mate Sarah Nobbs, also on the comeback trail, who hit 20 at 67% and collected nine rebounds; Mel Colcott who topped scored in the same game and recorded a double-double in a loss to the Cats and Suzi Rayment, who top scored in both of Eltham's outings as the Wildcats went 1-1 for the round.
