With time expiring, Wallace launched a prayer which sailed in off the backboard, before the Pistons outscored the Nuggets 15-11 in the extra period to claim the dramatic win.

Wallace finished the match with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Chauncey Billups top-scored for the Pistons with 34 points.

For the Nuggets, Marcus Camby netted 24 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, Nene Hilario and J.R. Smith hit 21 points, while Allen Iverson (16 points) and Carmelo Anthony (13 points) were well held.

In Phoenix, Raja Bell hit six three-pointers in his 29-point haul as the Phoenix Suns thrashed the Memphis Grizzlies 105-87.

Amare Stoudemire chipped in with 27 points for the Suns, while Spaniard Pau Gasol was the only shining light for the Grizzlies with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

In Utah, Carlos Boozer scored 41 points and pulled down 16 rebounds as the red hot Utah Jazz defeated the Washington Wizards 103-97.

Boozer connected on 15-of-21 from the field, and was ably supported by Mehmet Okur and Deron Williams who each netted 16 points, while Gilbert Arenas top-scored for the Wizards with 32 points.

In other matches the Boston Celtics downed the Toronto Raptors 95-87, the Miami Heat overpowered the Atlanta Hawks 106-89, the Orlando Magic proved too strong for the New York Knicks 94-89, the Chicago Bulls trounced the Portland Trailblazers 100-89, the Houston Rockets were too good for the Milwaukee Bucks 106-87 and the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Golden State Warriors 126-89.
